The most prestigious awards for the global mining investment community Mines and Money London culminates with the prestigious Mines and Money Outstanding Achievement Awards and Gala Dinner which attracts 500 industry leaders from all corners of the mining investment world. Global heavyweights rub shoulders with the European mining investment community and enjoy a glittering evening of entertainment with the opportunity to honour the companies and individuals who exhibited outstanding achievement in the awards categories.

AWARD CATEGORIES

Exploration Discovery Award
Open to: any sized mining company. The award is for the mining project not the mining company.
Criteria: The discovery doesn’t necessarily need to have been made in the last 12 months, but this was the year in which the industry recognized that its discovery had the potential to be next big exploration success. The exploration discovery can be a major, mid tier or junior. However, it has to relate to a new resource rather than an expansion of an existing resource.

Mining company of the year
Open to any mining company
Criteria: The mining company that has the best demonstrated innovation and commitment to managing its business and driving shareholder and stakeholder value over the October 2018 to September 2019 period.

CEO of the Year – Mining
Open to Executive at any mining company
Criteria: This award was created to recognize leadership, cost discipline and delivering shareholder returns over the past 12 months.

CEO of the Year – Exploration
Open To: Executive at any exploration mining company
Criteria: Recognising drive, perseverance and determination, the hiring, recruiting and maintaining a best in class exploration team, and ensuring excellent communication with shareholders and stakeholders alike.

Rising Star In Mining
Open To: Any individual under the age of 40 involved in the mining industry.
Criteria: Awarded to an individual, under the age of 40, whose work over the past year has earmarked them as a mining legend of the future.

Most inspiration Woman in Mining
Open To: Any woman working for a mining company
Criteria: Awarded to a woman who has done outstanding work over the past year in the mining industry.

Innovation in Sustainability
Open To: Any mining company
Criteria: For a mining company that has demonstrated innovation in driving sustainability throughout the organisation, and which has engaged with, and proactively driven, relationships with stakeholders and local communities.
NEW: Unsung Hero / Heroine
Open & Criteria: To a person in the industry whose work goes unrecognised, and who has done work that is exceptional and beyond the call of duty in 2019.
Judges: The Mines and Money Advisory Board
Best Alternative Finance Provider of the Year
Open To: Any Private Equity or Royalty & Streaming company in the mining sector
Criteria: For the best Private Equity / Royalty & Streaming company actively involved in mining deals from the period October 2018 to September 2019. Criteria considered include an assessment of new deals done in that period, the management of existing assets and evaluation of exits.
Judges: Mines and Money will poll miners on its database to determine winner
Fund Manager of the Year
Open to: This award is chosen using FE Trustnet/Morningstar data
Criteria: Chosen for period year to date. Fund size of US$50million. 75% + allocation in metals / mining
Judges: None; FE Trustnet / Morningstar data

Lifetime Achievement
Open To: Decided by the Advisory Board alone.
Criteria: Someone who has made a difference in their career to the mining industry

Best Mining Broker
Open To: Any broker servicing mining clients.
Criteria: For the mining broker from the period October 2018 to September 2019 that has best demonstrated commitment to building long-term relationships with clients, whether in raising capital, helping with IPO listing, ensuring the success of the venture, or in building enduring value for their investors.

Showcase Mine of the Year
Open To: Any mine
Criteria: A miner that has demonstrated innovation in developing a mine that breaks boundaries in terms of the adoption of new technology.

CTO of the Year
Open To: Any CTO
Criteria: Recognising an individual who has driven technological innovation through their company, whether it be introducing new technologies that have led to significant ROI or cost savings, or fostering a different cultural outlook towards technology through the organisation
