Chris worked for over 15 years in industrial and academic research prior to moving to consultancy in 1994 as a Principal Engineer and subsequently Director of the WA Group. At Birmingham University Chris lectured copper pyrometallurgy to final year “Minerals Engineering” BSc students. In industry he worked on a number of research and innovation projects related to the Pb/Zn Blast Furnace. Whilst at Shell/Billiton he was a senior Project Leader working on a wide variety of processing projects including Ferro Nickel smelting – slag chemistry of coal gasification ashes/slags. At Wardell Armstrong he has acted as project director for many technical and commercial evaluations of mining and metallurgical processing projects throughout the world. Chris is a registered Expert with the EU, adjudicating Research and Innovation (R&I) Projects and was the Research Co-ordinator of the highly acclaimed 7.4 Million EU H2020 Flexible and Mobile Processing (FAME) R&I Project. Chris works closely with banks and finance houses in the City of London. In May 2019 he became coordinator of the Innovate UK (Faraday Battery Challenge) Lithium for UK project investigating the feasibility of securing a British Lithium Supply Chain.
